This review presents the book "Discurso da política externa brasileira em tempos de Bolsonaro e Araújo" which addresses the analysis of speeches given by then-President Jair Bolsonaro and his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ernesto Araújo. The authors utilize the perspective of Bakhtin's Circle to understand how ideology permeates political discourses and influences social interactions. They highlight the importance of considering the stability and uniqueness of discursive elements to understand the formation of meanings. By analyzing speeches such as Bolsonaro's during the 2018 campaign and his conservative-reactionary stance, the authors show how political discourse can contribute to the spread of prejudices and discrimination. The study stands out for addressing recent political events, reflecting on Brazil's political context. The authors demonstrate the relevance of analyzing political discourses in the light of democracy and human rights, seeking to unravel the ideological lines present.
