Abstract

Humor is meaning: a way to feel the meaning of the said and the subject of saying. Typically materialized in laughter as the corporeal materiality of the effect of words, humor is symbolic, humor is human. Thus, this article discusses the functioning of language in which the signifier comes into play to challenge the signified in a wager for another sense as an effect. To do this, we discuss the notion of laughter in Bergson, as a function, therefore, useful to society. Then, starting from the humor in the joke according to Freud and Lacan, in which the word said suspends the real of the language, I propose a reflection on the effect of humor as discourse, in the interplay of psychoanalysis and discourse analysis.
