DISAPPEARED DURING THE MILITARY DICTATORSHIP IN BRAZIL IN THE NOVEL K. REPORTS OF A SEARCH, BERNARDO KUCINSKI

Abstract

This work aims to analyze interdiscursive traces of those disappeared during the Military Dictatorship (1964-19850), in the novel K. Relatos de uma Busca, by Bernardo Kuncisnki, analyzing figures, themes related to censorship and repression inflicted against opponents of the authoritarian regime, dissimulation and silencing of political prisoners and the strategies used to promote the erasure of the disappeared. The work, first published in 2011, is based on facts and has as its theme the search, anguish and despair of a father (character K) for his daughter (character Ana) who disappeared during the military dictatorship in Brazil. This is a bibliographical research, of a qualitative nature, effected by an approach that comprises elements of discursive semantics, from Maingueneau and Fiorin, in the analysis of figures and themes, also relying on Ricoeur's hermeneutics. The plot hints at interdiscursive traces that bring to light a scenario of crimes against Brazilian citizens, who were victims of censorship, illegal and clandestine arrests, torture, deaths and attempts to erase the memory of events that occurred. The vain search for her daughter and K.'s suffering sheds light the extent of the crimes committed by the Brazilian State, insofar as the consequences of the damage extended to family members and Brazilian society until the present day, compromising the memory and understanding the country's history.
